Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is set to follow on May 25, 2007. As of its date of close, December 7 2006, the film has made $423,315,812 in the U.S. The movie set several records in its first three days, with an opening weekend of $135,600,000. The film was released in Australia and the United Kingdom on July 6, 2006, and in the United States and Canada on July 7, 2006. Joining the cast are Bill Nighy, who portrays the villainous Davy Jones and Stellan SkarsgÄrd playing Will Turner's father, "Bootstrap Bill" Turner. Also returning are Jack Davenport as Commodore James Norrington and Jonathan Pryce as Governor Weatherby Swann. Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley reprise their roles as Captain Jack Sparrow, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann, respectively. The sequel is again directed by Gore Verbinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest is an Academy Award-nominated 2006 pirate adventure film that follows the 2003 summer blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.
